Project Idea Pitch Session
Use Project Idea Pitch Session to connect members' strengths and interests with worthwhile roles that have clear boundaries.
Developed further: this summary now draws on an initiative-specific internal editorial draft and attributed references. Human review has not started and will open only at the Full-Corpus Review Build.
What could this idea change?
It creates a welcoming reason for people to connect around a shared interest and leave with a clear next step.
It may suit: Members, guests or community participants who would find the topic useful, and the people hosting the activity.
A simple way to start
- Agree the decision boundary and assessment pathway, including who can invite community input, approve exploration, authorise spending and stop an unsafe or unsuitable idea. Who could lead it: Club board delegate and project governance lead
- Invite concise ideas through written, spoken and supported formats and ask proposers to distinguish known community evidence from assumptions and personal enthusiasm. Who could lead it: Session facilitator
- Check submissions for scope, conflicts, unsafe content, false partner claims and access needs, then coach each eligible proposer using the same canvas and time limit. Who could lead it: Screening panel and pitch coach
- Run pitches and structured clarification, record interest and questions privately and remind participants that voting informs exploration only. Who could lead it: Independent facilitator
- Assess each idea against community authority, need, fit, feasibility, cost, safety, access and capacity and assign explore, combine, redesign, defer or close status. Who could lead it: Authorised assessment group
What should we look for?
- After 90 days, review Project Idea Pitch Session. Look for roles being filled by choice, responsibilities being understood and useful work being completed without avoidable overload.
- Eligible ideas heard through equal information, time, coaching and access arrangements.
- Every pitch receiving a reasoned explore, combine, redesign, defer or close response by the promised date.
- Ideas entering exploration only after community-authority, feasibility, safety, access, cost and conflict checks.
- No vote or audience response represented as project approval, partner commitment or evidence of community need.
Before we say yes
- Does it fit a real local need?
- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
