Partner Appreciation Night

Use Partner Appreciation Night to make recognition timely, genuine and fair across visible and behind-the-scenes contributions.

What could this idea change?

It makes a wider range of contributions visible and strengthens the club's culture of appreciation.

It may suit: Members and volunteers whose contributions may be recognised, and the people nominating or celebrating them.

A simple way to start

  1. Define the appreciation purpose, separate partner and personal-supporter pathways and approve contact, claim, gift, media and membership boundaries. Who could lead it: Event lead and club board sponsor
  2. Ask each community partner to verify the contribution, representative and wording and ask members privately whether and how a personal supporter should be thanked. Who could lead it: Partner and member contacts
  3. Plan accessible, affordable recognition formats and confirm food, alcohol, transport, child, safeguarding, media, gift and no-attendance options. Who could lead it: Event and access leads
  4. Invite people in the words and channel they approved, explaining that attendance, gifts, photographs, membership conversation and future contact are optional and separate. Who could lead it: Communications lead
  5. Deliver concise verified thanks, use the approved representative and wording and provide private, team and no-stage alternatives throughout the event. Who could lead it: Host and partner contacts

What should we look for?

  • After 90 days, review Partner Appreciation Night. Look for a wider range of contributions being recognised, with consent, and for recipients reporting that the recognition felt appropriate.
  • Community-partner contributions and claims verified by authorised contacts.
  • Members and supporters choosing how, whether and where appreciation occurs.
  • Guests participating without recruitment, gift, media or future-contact pressure.
  • Corrections completed and registration, media and nomination records closed on schedule.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
