Alumni Youth Leadership Mentoring
Connects trained alumni mentors to youth leadership programs through institution-supervised, goal-based mentoring that never bypasses child-safe systems.
What could this idea change?
Young leaders receive relevant perspective and continuity while alumni contribute through a safe, structured role.
A simple way to start
- Define the mentoring task and non-mentoring exclusions with the youth program. Who could lead it: Program safeguarding lead
- Recruit, screen and train alumni in boundaries and referral. Who could lead it: Mentor coordinator
- Propose matches and confirm them through program staff. Who could lead it: Authorised staff coordinator
- Hold supervised or auditable sessions using a structured goal sheet. Who could lead it: Mentor and participant
- Close formally, return records and evaluate both learning and safety. Who could lead it: Program lead
What should we look for?
- Screened mentors and mutually accepted matches.

- Does it fit a real local need?
- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
