Regional Media Engagement Program

Coordinate relevant story access across regional outlets while tailoring each pitch to the communities, distances and newsroom realities it serves.

What could this idea change?

People outside metropolitan centres receive locally meaningful information and regional voices are not treated as an afterthought.

A simple way to start

  1. Map regional audience differences and each outlet's practical constraints. Who could lead it: Regional media planner
  2. Assign verified local sources and distinct angles to priority areas. Who could lead it: Local story coordinators
  3. Brief participating clubs on common facts and local authority. Who could lead it: Programme communications lead
  4. Pitch and host interviews through the relevant local contact. Who could lead it: Area media liaison
  5. Compare coverage gaps and improve access for under-served communities. Who could lead it: Regional evaluation lead

What should we look for?

  • Priority regional outlets have current local contacts.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
