## Recommended use

1. Read the model and status boundary before adapting any template.
2. Obtain club board approval and appoint the accountable roles.
3. Confirm current District, insurer, privacy, safety, safeguarding and partner requirements.
4. Design at least two genuine opportunities and complete an opportunity brief for each.
5. Run a small 90-day pilot with day-30, day-60 and day-90 reviews.
6. Continue, improve, pause or close using evidence and participant commitments.

## Non-negotiable controls

- In this pathway, a Friend is a local participant or supporter. The description does not automatically confer Rotary membership, voting rights, office-holding rights or the status of Rotarian.
- Do not invite people until a real opportunity, named owner, safety controls, safeguarding decision, privacy notice and response route are ready.
- Collect only the minimum information needed for the next step. Do not create reusable sensitive profiles or hidden membership-potential scores.
- Membership information is optional and permission-based. It is not the success measure for the Friends experience.
- Replace every bracketed field and obtain the appropriate local approvals before use.

## Source basis

The review pack was informed by current primary guidance from Rotary International, Volunteering Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and Safe Work Australia. The sources are linked in the toolkit. They do not endorse this local model and do not replace current Rotary governing documents, District procedures, insurer advice or applicable law.

## Document control

Owner role: District 9510 Membership Team – to be confirmed.
Public participant home: Join Rotary `/friends`.
Club resource home: Membership Hub, within the Legendary Clubs Package.
