Skills Showcase Rotation
Use Skills Showcase Rotation to connect members' strengths and interests with worthwhile roles that have clear boundaries.
Developed further: this summary now draws on an initiative-specific internal editorial draft and attributed references. Human review has not started and will open only at the Full-Corpus Review Build.
What could this idea change?
It turns member energy into visible, organised action that is easier for other people to join.
It may suit: Members who want to build the skill, and the experienced members or facilitators helping them practice.
A simple way to start
- Invite voluntary expressions of interest across many kinds and levels of skill and publish the selection, support and no-free-work boundaries. Who could lead it: Program coordinator
- Agree the exact five-minute outcome, format, introduction, equipment, access, questions, media, advice and later-contact choices with the contributor. Who could lead it: Contributor liaison
- Review safety, rights, privacy, professional and commercial boundaries and replace or reshape any segment the club cannot host responsibly. Who could lead it: Governance and safety leads
- Rehearse timing, access, verbal description, captions or visuals, host introduction, question close and a no-fault pause or withdrawal route. Who could lead it: Contributor and host
- Host the contribution within the agreement, interrupt advice-seeking, sales or intrusive questions and state how, or whether, people may follow up. Who could lead it: Meeting host
What should we look for?
- After 90 days, review Skills Showcase Rotation. Look for roles being filled by choice, responsibilities being understood and useful work being completed without avoidable overload.
- Contributors representing varied tenures, backgrounds, skill types and preferred presentation formats.
- Every contributor approving introduction, questions, media, later contact and advice boundaries before the meeting.
- Access, equipment, rights, professional and commercial issues resolved before the segment proceeds.
- Contributors reporting respect and useful connection without pressure to sell, advise or volunteer further work.
Before we say yes
- Does it fit a real local need?
- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
