Member Life Transition Kit
Use Member Life Transition Kit to keep participation realistic as members move through different work, family, health and life stages.
Developed further: this summary now draws on an initiative-specific internal editorial draft and attributed references. Human review has not started and will open only at the Full-Corpus Review Build.
What could this idea change?
It makes follow-up more caring and consistent, while leaving people in control of how they respond.
It may suit: Members who may welcome support or renewed contact, and the trusted club members following up.
A simple way to start
- Review the club's genuine pause, flexible-participation and return options and remove promises the club cannot sustain. Who could lead it: Member-experience lead and club secretary
- Ask the member whether they want the conversation and explain that no reason or evidence is required and no-contact is an acceptable choice. Who could lead it: Member-selected contact
- Offer contact, update, contribution, administrative and return choices in spoken, written or accessible formats and let the member select only what fits. Who could lead it: Member-selected contact
- Provide only the selected information or small physical item, checking affordability, address privacy, cultural fit and whether a gift is actually wanted. Who could lead it: Transition coordinator
- Use the agreed contact rhythm, do not interpret silence as consent to continue and update, pause or stop contact whenever the member asks. Who could lead it: Named club contact
What should we look for?
- After 90 days, review Member Life Transition Kit. Look for members choosing workable forms of participation and staying connected without pressure to disclose private circumstances.
- Members explicitly choosing contact, update, contribution, return or no-contact options.
- Agreed contact rhythm followed and changed promptly when requested.
- Flexible pathways offered honestly without pressure or collection of private reasons.
- Transition notes deleted and administrative records updated through the proper process at closure.
Before we say yes
- Does it fit a real local need?
- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
