What could this idea change?
It turns member energy into visible, organised action that is easier for other people to join.
It may suit: Former or less-connected members, and the club members reaching out to them.
A simple way to start
- Approve the project-only participation charter, including non-membership status, role limits, volunteer rights, conduct, information use, complaints and review. Who could lead it: Club board sponsor and volunteer lead
- Ask each partner and project lead which roles can genuinely support occasional volunteers and document purpose, conditions, clearance, supervision and expiry. Who could lead it: Project and partner leads
- Publish current opportunities through an accessible, low-pressure route with complete conditions, an enquiry contact and no implication of membership entitlement or preference. Who could lead it: Volunteer coordinator
- Match each interested person to one role, complete required checks and adjustments and confirm in writing the task, authority, information access, support and finish date. Who could lead it: Volunteer coordinator and task supervisor
- Induct, supervise and support the volunteer under the same project standards as others, record changes and incidents and prevent role drift into reserved or unapproved work. Who could lead it: Task supervisor and partner lead
What should we look for?
- After 90 days, review Project-Only Alumni Participation. Look for respectful reconnections made with consent, chosen next steps and follow-up that honours people who decline further contact.
- Open roles carrying current partner, commitment, access, screening, safety, support and expiry information.
- Project-only volunteers completing required checks and receiving a written role and named supervisor before access or work.
- Partner-confirmed useful contributions without unapproved authority, data access, representation or unresolved incident.
- Project access, assets, personal data and later-contact choices closed by the stated date.

- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
