Alumni Digital Community

Provides a moderated, preference-based online home for alumni to exchange opportunities and support without exposing personal profiles or creating another noisy group chat.

What could this idea change?

Geographically dispersed alumni can sustain peer support and mobilise expertise quickly for community needs.

A simple way to start

  1. Co-design channel purposes, allowed posts and moderation expectations. Who could lead it: Alumni digital advisory group
  2. Select the minimum platform and configure privacy-first defaults. Who could lead it: Digital administrator
  3. Invite through authorised lists with optional profile fields. Who could lead it: Alumni coordinator
  4. Seed useful discussions, verify opportunities and moderate consistently. Who could lead it: Moderator team
  5. Audit activity, safety, permissions and platform fit each quarter. Who could lead it: Community owner

What should we look for?

  • Consenting alumni completing onboarding.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
