Industry Roundtables

Gathers a small cross-section of one industry to test evidence, surface shared constraints and assign practical sector actions without creating a lobbying echo chamber.

What could this idea change?

Communities gain a clearer view of sector opportunities and harms, while participants identify collaborative improvements they can own.

A simple way to start

  1. Frame the issue and decision question with industry and community input. Who could lead it: Roundtable sponsor
  2. Recruit balanced perspectives and identify missing affected voices. Who could lead it: Convening lead
  3. Circulate evidence and collect conflicts before the meeting. Who could lead it: Research secretary
  4. Facilitate options, risks and commitments without agreeing prices or market conduct. Who could lead it: Independent chair
  5. Publish the agreed record and track the joint action or trial. Who could lead it: Action owner

What should we look for?

  • Representation across the industry and affected groups.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
