Rotary Startup Collaboration Event

Matches startups with community problem owners for bounded discovery and experiment design, explicitly separate from procurement, investment and endorsement.

What could this idea change?

Community organisations can explore new approaches safely and startups learn from real needs without extracting unpaid insight or personal data.

A simple way to start

  1. Prepare community-owned problem briefs with harm and exclusion constraints. Who could lead it: Collaboration curator
  2. Invite and screen startups for relevance, conflicts and conduct. Who could lead it: Selection team
  3. Run facilitated discovery tables led by problem owners and users. Who could lead it: Table facilitators
  4. Draft only bounded experiment concepts with owners and stop conditions. Who could lead it: Mixed teams
  5. Choose whether to explore further under a separate written pilot agreement. Who could lead it: Problem owner

What should we look for?

  • Problem briefs matched with relevant teams.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
