Business Community Roundtables
Creates place-based, mixed-sector working tables where businesses and community organisations solve practical neighbourhood issues and share responsibility for delivery.
What could this idea change?
Neighbourhood knowledge and business capability combine into small, visible improvements with local ownership.
A simple way to start
- Walk the area and validate the issue with residents and businesses. Who could lead it: Place coordinator
- Recruit a balanced table, including small and culturally diverse enterprises. Who could lead it: Community liaison
- Map causes, assets and actions within participants' control. Who could lead it: Facilitator
- Assign two or three 30-day experiments with owners and measures. Who could lead it: Roundtable participants
- Review in place, retain what works and refer unresolved systemic issues. Who could lead it: Place coordinator
What should we look for?
- Participant mix reflecting the place.
Before we say yes
- Does it fit a real local need?
- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
