Community Futures Summit
Enables a broad community to examine plausible local futures, test choices against evidence and agree a small set of resilient actions without presenting forecasts as certainty.
What could this idea change?
People can influence how emerging change is understood and prepare practical responses that remain useful across more than one possible future.
A simple way to start
- Commission a concise evidence scan and ask communities which future questions matter most. Who could lead it: Futures Evidence Lead
- Construct contrasting plausible scenarios without attaching partisan labels or preferred outcomes. Who could lead it: Scenario Design Team
- Recruit participants through public and targeted access routes and prepare facilitators for inclusive deliberation. Who could lead it: Participation Lead
- Run scenario sessions that test impacts, trade-offs, early signals and no-regrets actions. Who could lead it: Summit Facilitation Director
- Publish the evidence, dissent and action portfolio with owners, dependencies and review triggers. Who could lead it: Portfolio and Reporting Lead
