Rotary Online Community Hub
Provides one maintained digital front door for local projects, events, resources, discussion and participation, with clear boundaries between public information, community interaction and private records.
What could this idea change?
People can discover current opportunities and contribute through a consistent, accessible space without joining multiple informal groups or relying on social algorithms.
A simple way to start
- Validate priority user tasks and decide which functions belong in the hub rather than another channel. Who could lead it: Hub Product Owner
- Prototype navigation and participation journeys with diverse users, including assistive-technology users. Who could lead it: Service Designer
- Configure the minimum viable hub with secure access, moderation, notices, backups and content ownership. Who could lead it: Technical Lead
- Pilot with a bounded community, test incidents and fix usability, access and governance failures. Who could lead it: Pilot and Quality Lead
- Launch in stages and review whether each feature creates enough community value to retain. Who could lead it: Hub Governance Group
What should we look for?
- Priority tasks completed without assistance
Before we say yes
- Does it fit a real local need?
- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
