Media Training for Rotarians

Prepare a small authorised spokesperson group to answer real questions plainly, protect people and represent Rotary accurately under pressure.

What could this idea change?

Public information becomes clearer and safer because knowledgeable representatives can respond without speculation or jargon.

A simple way to start

  1. Assess each spokesperson's role, medium and likely risk scenarios. Who could lead it: Training coordinator
  2. Build short evidence-based messages and safe bridges to authorised facts. Who could lead it: Message lead
  3. Practice recorded interviews including hostile and uncertain questions. Who could lead it: Media trainer
  4. Review performance for clarity, accuracy, empathy and boundary control. Who could lead it: Peer review panel
  5. Certify subject limits and schedule refresh or deputy coverage. Who could lead it: Club president

What should we look for?

  • Authorised spokespeople complete role-specific practice.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
