Rotary Media Ambassador Program

Maintain a diverse, trained roster of Rotarians who can represent approved topics accurately and connect journalists to the right community expertise.

What could this idea change?

Media receive responsive, knowledgeable contacts while public statements better reflect local diversity and real project experience.

A simple way to start

  1. Identify priority media topics and the expertise each requires. Who could lead it: Programme director
  2. Recruit and select ambassadors through a transparent expression of interest. Who could lead it: Selection panel
  3. Train, record topic authority and test escalation decisions. Who could lead it: Media coach
  4. Route enquiries through a central desk to the suitable available ambassador. Who could lead it: Roster coordinator
  5. Review interviews, wellbeing and continued authority each quarter. Who could lead it: Governance sponsor

What should we look for?

  • Priority topics have trained primary and backup ambassadors.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
