Rotary Press Breakfast

Offer journalists a modest, time-efficient breakfast briefing with direct access to credible project and community sources, without any expectation of coverage.

What could this idea change?

Newsrooms can understand emerging local issues and meet useful sources in a transparent, low-pressure setting.

A simple way to start

  1. Consult newsroom contacts on timing and a genuinely useful topic. Who could lead it: Press breakfast lead
  2. Invite transparently and state that attendance carries no coverage expectation. Who could lead it: Media invitations coordinator
  3. Brief speakers on evidence, attribution, authority and difficult questions. Who could lead it: Programme editor
  4. Deliver the short briefing and maximise journalist questions and source access. Who could lead it: Moderator
  5. Send promised material and record feedback without chasing a story commitment. Who could lead it: Media follow-up officer

What should we look for?

  • Relevant outlets attend or request the materials.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
