Rotary Storytelling Competition

Invites original community stories under transparent rules and fair judging, using the competition to surface local perspectives rather than harvest free promotional content.

What could this idea change?

Creates a visible creative opportunity, recognises varied voices and develops a rights-cleared collection around a meaningful local theme.

A simple way to start

  1. Set the theme, categories, entry limits, judging rubric, timetable and proportionate rights request. Who could lead it: Competition Director
  2. Publish accessible rules and promote through community, cultural, school and creative networks. Who could lead it: Outreach Lead
  3. Receive entries securely, confirm eligibility and separate entrant identity from judging where practicable. Who could lead it: Entries Registrar
  4. Manage independent scoring, conflicts, moderation and documented selection decisions. Who could lead it: Judging Convenor
  5. Notify entrants privately, obtain final publication clearance and deliver recognition and approved showcase. Who could lead it: Awards and Publication Lead

What should we look for?

  • Eligible entries received across target segments

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
