University Partnership Program

Connect university teaching, research and facilities to a community-defined Rotary project while giving staff and students an authentic applied brief.

What could this idea change?

Community partners gain evidence and specialist capability while students work on a real brief with accountable local ownership.

A simple way to start

  1. Frame the community question as a deliverable suitable for university capability. Who could lead it: Community brief owner
  2. Identify the correct faculty, engagement office or student programme. Who could lead it: University liaison
  3. Set academic, ethics, IP, access and quality expectations in writing. Who could lead it: Joint project sponsor
  4. Run milestone reviews with the community client, not only the academic team. Who could lead it: Project supervisor
  5. Transfer usable outputs, limitations and source files to the designated owner. Who could lead it: Knowledge-transfer lead

What should we look for?

  • University unit accepts the scoped community brief.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
