Rotary STEM Engagement Program

Makes STEM visible as a tool for solving community problems through hands-on, inclusive activities led by credible practitioners and educators.

What could this idea change?

Students see diverse local pathways and practice safe inquiry on a problem with social relevance.

A simple way to start

  1. Choose a community-linked STEM question with students and teachers. Who could lead it: STEM coordinator
  2. Recruit diverse practitioners and pair each with an educator. Who could lead it: Vocational service lead
  3. Prototype the activity, complete safety checks and prepare accessible variants. Who could lead it: Technical safety lead
  4. Deliver in supervised stations that let every student make and test something. Who could lead it: Facilitator team
  5. Share next-step study and career resources through the school and review learning evidence. Who could lead it: Teacher liaison

What should we look for?

  • Students completing the practical activity.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
