Rotary Vision Workshop
Use Rotary Vision Workshop to give members a meaningful voice in the choices that shape their club experience.
Developed further: this summary now draws on an initiative-specific internal editorial draft and attributed references. Human review has not started and will open only at the Full-Corpus Review Build.
What could this idea change?
It creates a welcoming reason for people to connect around a shared interest and leave with a clear next step.
It may suit: Members, guests or community participants who would find the topic useful, and the people hosting the activity.
A simple way to start
- Write the decision brief for Rotary Vision Workshop: define which strategic question is open to member influence and how the authorised decision-maker will respond, the starting evidence, people affected, local authority, resource limit, success signals and stop conditions. Who could lead it: Board sponsor and member-experience lead
- Invite people across tenure and participation patterns, make involvement voluntary, offer accessible and non-digital routes, state what is open or fixed and protect private circumstances. Apply this specifically to Rotary Vision Workshop and record which relevant experiences or users are still missing. Who could lead it: Board sponsor and member-experience lead with the access and privacy contacts
- Build and test a needs-led learning session with verified content, active practice and a real transfer task for Rotary Vision Workshop; complete the Rotary Vision Workshop Learning Design and Practice Sheet, rehearse the boundary wording and confirm who may decide, refer, pause, recover or close the work. Who could lead it: Initiative host and evidence custodian
- Use a bounded, permission-led trial; keep interpretation with participants, record exceptions as well as successes and transfer any private, urgent or specialist matter to its responsible pathway. Capture only the evidence needed to judge whether Rotary Vision Workshop advances member voice with visible influence. Who could lead it: Initiative host and evidence custodian
- Compare the evidence with the starting point, validate meaning with affected participants or users, record gaps and unintended effects and prepare a completed practice artefact, observed feedback record and application commitment without overstating what the trial proves. Who could lead it: Initiative host and evidence custodian with an independent reviewer
What should we look for?
- After 90 days, review Rotary Vision Workshop. Look for diverse member input being considered before decisions and a clear explanation of how that input influenced the outcome.
- Rotary Vision Workshop produces a completed practice artefact, observed feedback record and application commitment by the promised decision date, with evidence limitations, participation gaps and unintended effects stated.
- People affected can explain the purpose, their choices, the boundary and how to raise an access, privacy, safety or governance concern.
- The trial shows whether member voice with visible influence improved from the recorded starting point without shifting hidden workload, risk or exclusion elsewhere.
- Every accepted action has an owner, due date and completion evidence, and the club records a reasoned continue, adapt, refer, scale or stop decision.
Before we say yes
- Does it fit a real local need?
- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
