Rotary Policy Conversations
Helps communities understand a public-policy question through sourced explanation, lived experience and multiple credible perspectives while keeping Rotary outside partisan advocacy and electoral persuasion.
What could this idea change?
People can ask informed questions, distinguish evidence from values and understand options and authority without attending a party-political event.
A simple way to start
- Frame a neutral policy question and distinguish law, current policy, proposal, evidence and opinion. Who could lead it: Policy Conversation Sponsor
- Select contributors for relevant knowledge and lived experience under transparent balance criteria. Who could lead it: Contributor Curator
- Fact-check the briefing and prepare moderator prompts that surface assumptions and trade-offs. Who could lead it: Evidence Editor
- Facilitate equal conditions for explanation and questions without votes, endorsements or campaign asks. Who could lead it: Independent Moderator
- Publish a sourced neutral summary and refer questions to the authorities responsible for answers. Who could lead it: Rapporteur and Referral Lead
