Community Strategy Workshop

Moves a defined community priority from shared evidence to a short, owned strategy by making choices, trade-offs, authority, measures and review points explicit in the room.

What could this idea change?

Participants can see how their input affects priorities and leave with a realistic action framework instead of an unranked list of aspirations.

A simple way to start

  1. Confirm the priority, decision boundary and evidence with participants before strategy generation. Who could lead it: Strategy Sponsor
  2. Surface stakeholder needs, assets, constraints and non-negotiable rights through structured exercises. Who could lead it: Lead Facilitator
  3. Generate and assess strategic options against community value, feasibility, equity, risk and authority. Who could lead it: Workshop Participants
  4. Draft the minimum coherent strategy with accepted owners, dependencies, measures and review triggers. Who could lead it: Strategy Scribe
  5. Validate the draft with absent stakeholders and secure formal acceptance only from authorised organisations. Who could lead it: Strategy Steward

What should we look for?

  • Decision-relevant stakeholders contributing

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
