Service Above Self Campaign

Makes Service Above Self tangible by pairing the value with ordinary local decisions, shared work and one achievable invitation rather than abstract or self-congratulatory messaging.

What could this idea change?

The public sees a practical service ethic expressed through accountable action and can try it without adopting institutional language or status.

A simple way to start

  1. Define the behaviour the campaign is asking people to notice or practice. Who could lead it: Campaign Sponsor
  2. Collect concise examples from members, partners and community participants with permission. Who could lead it: Story Curator
  3. Test the message for humility, inclusion, factual support and accessible language. Who could lead it: Community Review Panel
  4. Publish the examples alongside a specific shared-service invitation. Who could lead it: Communications Lead
  5. Record participation and ask whether the experience matched the value described. Who could lead it: Service Project Lead

What should we look for?

  • Verified examples published

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
