Local Heroes Campaign

Recognises overlooked community contribution through transparent, consent-led profiles that transfer attention to the cause and collective effort rather than creating a popularity contest.

What could this idea change?

Valuable local work receives credible recognition, communities discover who is helping and featured contributors can direct support to the need they serve.

A simple way to start

  1. Define the contribution being recognised and test criteria with community organisations. Who could lead it: Recognition Lead
  2. Invite nominations through accessible public and partner channels and record conflicts. Who could lead it: Nominations Coordinator
  3. Verify achievements privately and let each prospective feature set publicity boundaries. Who could lead it: Due Diligence Lead
  4. Publish a balanced series that credits teams, context and the community cause. Who could lead it: Editorial Lead
  5. Route audience offers to the featured cause and report what support materialised. Who could lead it: Community Liaison

What should we look for?

  • Eligible nominations from outside Rotary networks

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
