Rotary Community Service Month
Turns a month of service into a paced public participation pathway, balancing immediate volunteer actions with education, partner visibility and evidence of sustained community benefit.
What could this idea change?
People can choose from different service intensities while projects gain planned support and the community sees how separate actions connect to longer-term outcomes.
A simple way to start
- Select a balanced project portfolio and define the community outcome that links it. Who could lead it: Service Portfolio Lead
- Allocate volunteer capacity, project supervision, budgets and contingency cover week by week. Who could lead it: Operations Lead
- Publish comparable role information and separate registration choices for each activation. Who could lead it: Volunteer Communications Lead
- Deliver the calendar with consistent induction, attendance, safety and evidence capture. Who could lead it: Project Leads
- Aggregate results without double-counting people or attributing partner outcomes solely to Rotary. Who could lead it: Measurement Lead
What should we look for?
- Service roles filled against safe capacity
Before we say yes
- Does it fit a real local need?
- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
