What could this idea change?

Explains how local action contributes to long-term global work while centring affected communities, local partners and evidence.

Could this work in our club?

  • Local supporters, project partners, diaspora communities, volunteers and donors seeking credible international context. Use when the club has a documented role in an active or completed international project.

Before you start

  • A jointly approved story brief stating partner roles, project status, evidence, currencies and unresolved risks.
  • Cross-border consent, translation, image, data, cultural protocol and brand permissions.
  • A local response route able to answer questions about funds, delivery, safeguards and future involvement.

At the end: Answer substantive questions with project owners, report local response to partners, correct outdated material quickly and retire appeals or links when the project status changes.

Before your club says yes

Does the idea fit?

Talk with the people it is meant to serve and check that the need is real.

Who can say yes?

Name the person or group that can approve the work, spending and any safety arrangements.

Are people protected?

Check privacy, consent and safety. Collect only the information you genuinely need.

Can everyone take part?

Check the language, format, place, technology and cost for barriers.

Are the facts and permissions right?

Check names, claims, images, quotations, partner references and Rotary branding.

How will we learn?

Note where things stand now, check in at 30, 60 and 90 days, and decide what to do next.
