What could this idea change?

Council evidence and assets combine with Rotary volunteers and local networks, reducing duplicated effort and improving follow-through.

Could this work in our club?

  • Council community-development, place, environment or libraries officers; the club board and relevant project leads. Use when a council plan names a community outcome the club can materially support.

Before you start

  • A board-approved partnership mandate, spending ceiling and named council liaison.
  • A map of the relevant council portfolio, decision pathway and meeting protocol.
  • A concise non-partisan brief stating the need, proposed contribution and matters still open.

At the end: Send confirmed minutes within two business days, maintain a joint action register, and schedule the continuation decision before the pilot closes.

Before your club says yes

Does the idea fit?

Talk with the people it is meant to serve and check that the need is real.

Who can say yes?

Name the person or group that can approve the work, spending and any safety arrangements.

Are people protected?

Check privacy, consent and safety. Collect only the information you genuinely need.

Can everyone take part?

Check the language, format, place, technology and cost for barriers.

Are the facts and permissions right?

Check names, claims, images, quotations, partner references and Rotary branding.

How will we learn?

Note where things stand now, check in at 30, 60 and 90 days, and decide what to do next.
