Local Government Partnership Program

Build a dependable working relationship with council by converting one shared municipal priority into a bounded, jointly owned pilot.

What could this idea change?

Council evidence and assets combine with Rotary volunteers and local networks, reducing duplicated effort and improving follow-through.

A simple way to start

  1. Match current council-plan priorities to the club's proven capabilities. Who could lead it: Partnership lead
  2. Confirm mandate, financial boundary and conflicts before any approach. Who could lead it: Board sponsor
  3. Request an officer-level scoping meeting through the appropriate council channel. Who could lead it: Council liaison
  4. Document a small pilot with roles, approvals, milestones and an exit point. Who could lead it: Joint working group
  5. Review delivery evidence and decide whether to renew, expand or close. Who could lead it: Club secretary

What should we look for?

  • Relevant council officer accepts a scoping meeting.

Before we say yes

  • Does it fit a real local need?
  • Can people take part safely and fairly?
  • Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
  • Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
