Join a neighbourhood organisation around a specific local need while preserving its community knowledge, identity and decision voice.
What could this idea change?
Residents receive a more coherent service because local trust and lived experience shape Rotary's volunteer and convening support.
A simple way to start
- Listen to the organisation's account of the need, participants and existing responses. Who could lead it: Community connector
- Offer two or three concrete Rotary contributions and invite the partner to select or reshape them. Who could lead it: Project lead
- Agree participant access, communications, safeguarding and expense responsibilities. Who could lead it: Joint coordinators
- Deliver the trial with the community organisation visibly sharing leadership. Who could lead it: Activity lead
- Hold a participant-informed debrief and record the next mutual commitment. Who could lead it: Evaluation convenor
What should we look for?
- Partner identifies a genuine unmet contribution Rotary can make.
Before we say yes
- Does it fit a real local need?
- Can people take part safely and fairly?
- Are the facts, permissions and Rotary branding right?
- Who will lead it, and when will we review it?
