What could this idea change?

Business capability is directed to a verified local need without converting the activity into advertising or privileged access.

Could this work in our club?

  • Local employers, chambers and trader groups, social enterprises, Rotary vocational leads and community partners. Use when a project needs specialist skills or resources available in the local business community.

Before you start

  • A contribution menu, beneficiary outcome and fair process for approaching businesses.
  • Conflict, procurement, sponsorship, brand and in-kind valuation rules approved by the board.
  • A community partner authorised to confirm that offers meet the actual need.

At the end: Provide each business with an evidence-based outcome note, close unaccepted offers respectfully, and review concentration and conflict risks before another collaboration.

Before your club says yes

Does the idea fit?

Talk with the people it is meant to serve and check that the need is real.

Who can say yes?

Name the person or group that can approve the work, spending and any safety arrangements.

Are people protected?

Check privacy, consent and safety. Collect only the information you genuinely need.

Can everyone take part?

Check the language, format, place, technology and cost for barriers.

Are the facts and permissions right?

Check names, claims, images, quotations, partner references and Rotary branding.

How will we learn?

Note where things stand now, check in at 30, 60 and 90 days, and decide what to do next.
