Builds a community-owned picture of a desirable local future from broad participation, then translates it into themes, tensions and invitations for authorised organisations to consider rather than claiming a manufactured mandate.

What could this idea change?

People can express what they value and fear through several accessible methods, see how perspectives were synthesised and identify which bodies can act on the result.

Could this work in our club?

  • Residents across place, age, culture, disability and socioeconomic groups, community organisations, Traditional Owners and institutions shaping local futures. Use when a community or locality needs a shared directional conversation before formal strategy or major change.

Before you start

  • An independent governance group with affected-community representation, Traditional Owner engagement where relevant and declared interests.
  • A participation plan combining accessible in-person, digital, written, visual and supported contribution methods.
  • A synthesis protocol defining coding, privacy, weighting, minority views, publication, correction and handoff to authorities.

At the end: Publish the accessible final vision, method and limitations after community review, then maintain a public response table showing how each authorised organisation accepts, declines or refers the themes.

Before your club says yes

Does the idea fit?

Talk with the people it is meant to serve and check that the need is real.

Who can say yes?

Name the person or group that can approve the work, spending and any safety arrangements.

Are people protected?

Check privacy, consent and safety. Collect only the information you genuinely need.

Can everyone take part?

Check the language, format, place, technology and cost for barriers.

Are the facts and permissions right?

Check names, claims, images, quotations, partner references and Rotary branding.

How will we learn?

Note where things stand now, check in at 30, 60 and 90 days, and decide what to do next.
