1. Is this worth trying here?

What we hope will change: Replace ad hoc sign upgrades with an owned lifecycle that keeps every retained public asset legitimate, legible, current, safe and removable.

2. Our 90-day try-out

1Photograph and register every known asset, then decide retain, correct, replace or remove against current purpose and authority.Asset Coordinator
2Confirm land or site owner, exact placement, term, conditions, maintenance and removal responsibility.Site Liaison
3Develop copy, marks, material and destination; test legibility and access at actual viewing distance.Brand and Content Approver
4Fabricate and install through competent suppliers under the site-specific method and acceptance plan.Production/Installation Lead
5Commission the asset and schedule inspection, cleaning, damage, correction and route-health checks.Maintenance Owner
6Remove or replace when authority, message, condition, branding or route expires, then secure site acceptance.Asset Coordinator

3. Checks before we start

Things our club needs to check
QuestionWhat it means for usWho will checkDone?
Proceed only when ownership, site authority, proof, installation method, acceptance and lifetime maintenance are recorded; remove an obsolete asset or defer fabrication when any of those controls is missing.
Obtain controlled site and partner authority for the exact design, placement, term and removal plan.
Test legibility, contrast, glare, height, viewing distance, pedestrian approach and the human-readable route in actual conditions.

After 30 days

Is it reaching the right people? Is anything unsafe, unfair or harder than expected?

After 60 days

Make one useful change based on what people have told you.

After 90 days

Compare with where you started. Decide whether to change it, continue it or stop.

Before your club says yes

Does the idea fit?

Talk with the people it is meant to serve and check that the need is real.

Who can say yes?

Name the person or group that can approve the work, spending and any safety arrangements.

Are people protected?

Check privacy, consent and safety. Collect only the information you genuinely need.

Can everyone take part?

Check the language, format, place, technology and cost for barriers.

Are the facts and permissions right?

Check names, claims, images, quotations, partner references and Rotary branding.

How will we learn?

Note where things stand now, check in at 30, 60 and 90 days, and decide what to do next.
